Super Secret Shows

It's good to be back! I've been gone for two weeks. One of those weeks, I was in Seattle shooting a secret show with Tom Merritt. It'll be launching soon, and I'm looking forward to sharing it with you! It was a pleasure to work with Tom. He's fantastic at what he does! If you don't watch his shows, be sure to check him out!

Geeks Life Production Update

Our lease is up soon on our temporary studio, and we've made a decision on the permanent studio! Starting in August, Geeks Life will have TWO studios... one in Dallas and one in Portland, Oregon. AND... we've figured out how to save money and lower overhead in the process! :)

David and I are moving to Portland. We'll be renting a house and setting up a permanent studio in one section of the house. We'll continue producing Tech Whisperer, ImpartialGeek and Hipster & The Geek from there.

Dave Curlee will continue producing shows (Entertainment Geeks, Lights. Camera. Web. and Talk Nerdy to Me) from his house here in Dallas.

We're saving money in this process, and that means we're closer to the point of having our expenses meet income. We're still a little ways off, but we're getting there with this decision and your monthly membership support. Thank you!

I'm excited about what this means for the end result:

  • We won't be forced to spend time and efforts on outside production, and we'll be able to FOCUS ON YOU more!
  • You'll see more variety with shows: Better and different sets for each host. The ability to do the content we want (example: music reviews are near impossible in the current setup). And we'll have better structure and flows in place with the additional space.

Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk

Because we'll be moving studio equipment and don't want to put that on a big truck for a cross country move, we wanted a car with towing capability, and since we'll be in the Pacific Northwest, we want the ability to do more Hipster & The Geeks in the outdoors and get some adventure in!

So we traded our car for the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. It was a bit of a frustrating process, but we got it taken care of!

Podcast Movement

We'll be speaking at Podcast Movement on August 1st in Fort Worth. We hope to see you there!
